Hurricane Sandy, the largest Atlantic hurricane on record, affected the Caribbean, Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States.

Most shops are closed in lower Manhattan due to storm damage and power outages. Some businesses brought their much needed items out to the sidewalks to sell to people, such as batteries, flashlights and candles.
